Summer in Valles: hikes and bike rides in the Isarco Valley and the Gitschberg Jochtal alpine region

Lush meadows, cool woods, and a hundred different shades of colour. A hike in the Gitschberg Jochtal alpine region is a unique experience. The Lechnerhof is an ideal base for exploring the local area, offering an almost endless choice.

The village of Valles is in the Isarco valley, surrounded by the Fundres mountains. The best-known destinations are Malga Fane, the Alta Via di Fundres (high-altitude trail), the Bressanone mountain hut, Lake Selvaggio and the Picco della Croce.

Hike around Valles (tour of the village)

Duration: about 1 h
Length: 4.8 km

A family hike around the main village in the valley, starting straight from our farm. The route is signposted. The spectacular view is included!

 

Sentiero Leitensteig to Maranza

Duration: 1 h 45 min
Length: 5.5 km

A hiking trail that you can join right by the farm. The Leitensteig trail takes you to Maranza in the Valle d'Altafossa.

 

Sentiero del Latte to Malga Fane

Starting from the Valles car park, follow the Sentiero del Latte up to the charming Malga Fane, stopping to read the information boards about milk and dairy products.

This unique alpine village consists of three mountain huts offering services for visitors, a small chapel and various private cabins.

Possible ways to get to Malga Fane: drive for 2 km, then continue on foot. Or drive to the top (just a 10 minute walk from Malga Fane). A shuttle service is available in summer.
